Attendance Area Exception
Attendance Area Exception
VBSD families have the opportunity to request an area exception to allow students to attend a school outside of their designated zone. (Ex. Families living in the area zoned for Rena Elementary School can apply to have their children attend Oliver Springs or another VBSD elementary campus.)
Completed Attendance Area Exception forms must be returned to the school where students are requesting to attend. Parents may also email completed applications to the building principal of the requested school. (See email addresses below.) The deadline to apply for the 2024-2025 school year (fall semester) is April 15, 2024.
While VBSD seeks to accommodate families and their attendance preferences, parents should note that completing an area exception application does not guarantee it will be approved. Applications are on a first come, first serve basis. Approvals are dependent on space in the school requested.
If approved, bus service will NOT be provided to area exception students. Parents MUST provide transportation to and from school.
Applicants will be notified of their acceptance or rejection by VBSD.
