JRotc
Art Club is open to all students who have a desire to explore art beyond the classroom. Art Club students will have the opportunity to use their passion for visual arts in community service projects, as well as to expand their curiosity for art by encountering new art experiences (museums, galleries, art projects, etc.). BETA Club is a student service/honor society. Selection requirements are based on: 3.25 GPA, good citizenship, and community service. Sponsor: K. Mohr
Book Club is open to all students who would like to meet to discuss recent books that have been read. Sponsors: R. Carlson, M. Hefner
Chess Club is open to all students who would like to learn to play chess or improve their current skills. Practices are held once a week where students can play each other. There are a few tournaments held during the year at various locations throughout the state. Sponsor: G. Boyle
Cultures in Action (CIA) is open to all students to wish to explore various countries and their cultures. It offers an opportunity to familiarize students with the habits, manners, attitudes, religions, languages, and foods of other people. The club meets about once a month and attempts to have guest speakers with experience in other countries, to visit ethnic restaurants, to view films and documentaries from and about the country of the month, and other activities that present students with the opportunity to broaden their cultural understanding.

Drama Club is open to students enrolled in the VBHS Drama Department. Sponsor: J. Fischer
Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is open to all students. FCA is the largest Christian sports organization in America. FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ. Sponsor: B. Mosby
Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is open to all students that are interested in pursuing careers in business related fields. FBLA involves District, State and National Leadership Conferences in which students can compete in business events ranging from Accounting to Website Development. FBLA is a great academic and social experience, with the chance to put your skills to the test at the national level. You get a chance to meet new people, make new friends and enjoy yourself at locations all around the country! Sponsor: A. Thompson
Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is open all students who are taking or have taken a course in Family and Consumer Science. It is the ultimate leadership experience! FCCLA is part of the Family and Consumer Sciences Education Program. This nationwide organization has approximately 220,000 members in more than 7,000 local chapters in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Future Teachers of America (FTA) is open to all students who have an interest in pursuing a career in education. Sponsor: K. Porter
Future Health Professionals (HOSA) is open to all students who are interested in pursuing a career in Health Occupation. The purpose of the HOSA organization is to develop leadership and technical HOSA skill competencies through a program of motivation, awareness and recognition, which is an integral part of the Health Science Education instructional program. Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps JROTC
"provides a quality citizenship, character and leadership development program while fostering partnerships with communities and educational institutions. Cadets operate in collaborative, authentic learning settings that allow them to transition learned cognitive and affective skills to real life circumstances. They may participate in numerous after school co-curricular activities such as drill, marksmanship, physical training, color guard and orienteering. All activities associated with JROTC provide cadets with the opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities in a problem based learning environment. "

National History Club is open to all students who have a desire to learn more about history and how to help preserve it. Sponsors: J. Belcher, D. Glaser
National Honor Society is an exclusive honors organization. Applications are invitation only. Each applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.75 to receive an invitation to apply during the fall semester. Completed applications then go before a Faculty Council for scoring. Partners Club is open to all students who wish to work with the teachers and athletes of the Special Olympics events in which our VBSD special needs students participate. Our club assists, escorts, and trains athletes for Special Olympic events such as Power Lifting, Track and Field, Basketball, and Volleyball. Sponsors: D. Glaser, M. Fonville
Quill and Scroll is the Journalism student honor society. Membership is open to students in advanced journalism classes including yearbook and newspaper. Sponsor: L. Darden
Quiz Bowl is an academic competition group selected by competitive try-outs. They meet before and after school for the purpose of preparing for interscholastic quiz bowl competition. Sponsor: Starlene Duggan

Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is a national honor society for students who have been exemplary students in Spanish classes for at least three semesters. These students display a
passion for life-long language learning and other cultures, as well as for advocating for the benefits of language learning and cultural tolerance throughout the community.
