Guerrero named VBSD Director of Elementary Learning Services

VBSD is proud to announce the hiring of Sonia Guerrero as Director of Elementary Learning Services. Guerrero has worked in education for more than 20 years as a classroom teacher, testing coordinator, assistant principal, and building principal. Guerrero holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing & a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. In the summer of 2020, she and her family relocated to Van Buren from San Antonio. Guerrero has been married to her husband Ernest for 25 years. The couple has three children Ernest (Nicole), Nicholas (Celia), and Ysabela, who will graduate from Van Buren High School this month. The couple are also proud grandparents to Saraya. Guerrero will assume her new role with the District in July.
