Van Buren Wrestling Program Captures Multiple State Titles

The Van Buren School District's wrestling program captured mulitple state titles at state wrestling tournaments in February. The wins included four individual titles and an overall team title.

The VBHS Boys Wrestling Team won the 5A Boys State Wrestling Championship. 

Individual title wins included the following:

-Addison Loney (116 lb. Girls' Division) 

-Shiloh Summers (120 lb. Boys' Division)

-Trevor Edelen (132 lb. Boys' Division)

-Grant King (195 lb. Boys. Division) 

Loney, Summers, and Edelen all placed first last year, making this year's victory their second consecutive individual title win. 

VBSD Wrestling Coach John Petree was also honored as the 2022 5A Coach of the Year.

Earlier in the month, the VBSD Wrestling program also won the 5A State Dual Championship.
